Daisy's patrol

Subject: Daisy's patrol 2010-01-17, 7:54 pm

Daisy set off from the horse corral to see if their was any danger in the meadow. She sensed something.
"Wolf..." She whispered to herself. She squinted her eyes and looked into the distance, but a quick movement caught her eye. She bounded to the forest on the other side of the small meadow, an angry growl rising on her face.

A wolf pounced on Daisy, sending her spiraling into the bushes. It looked at her fiercely as she struggled to her paws.

Daisy winced, a scratch down her flank from the branches. She charged at the wolf, knocking it over to its side before piercing it's neck with her teeth. She watched the wolf started coughing up blood. She bit down harder, expecting to kill it...

The wolf acted quickly. He turned his head around and sank his teeth into the back of Daisy's neck. He panted wildly when he felt the pressure on this throat drop. He wimpered at the teeth marks, neatly arranged around the front of his neck. His pain turned to anger and he leaped at Daisy with his mouth open.

Daisy charged at the wolf, her claws out stretched. She leaped, using her powerful back leg's to spring her up into the air. Her small flexible body made it easy to duck the wolf's teeth and slid under his belly. She reached up a claw, and dug it into the wolf's chest and dug in as she lay a long bloody scratch along his belly. She landed on her paws, soaked in blood.

He landed clumsily on the ground, quivering at his defeat. The wolf ran off into the forest, leaving a long, bloody trail of blood behind him.

She puffed up her chest proudly and started to lick herself clean. She ran back to the horse corral to check on Misty.

The dog's young owner Kit was in the Barn, waiting in anticipation. She saw Daisy and ran up. "Oh, Daisy! What happened?" She saw grey wolf on her pelt, and the blood. "Oh Daisy are you OK? Let's take you into the house, and I'll give you a bath." She picked up the injured dog carefully, walking towards the house.

"Uugh, a bath? Great! Just great..." Daisy thought to herself. "At least the coral is safe."
